PhaseLink Corporation Announces Multi-Voltage Outputs, 3-PLLs, 32KHz to 125MHz Programmable Clock, Three Programmable PLLs, Varying Voltage Level on Each Output (1.62V~3.63V), Lowest Power Consumption, With Smallest Footprint |
| | Fremont, California – February 23rd 2009
PhaseLink Corporation, a leader in frequency source generation and the inventor of Analog
Frequency Multiplier (industry’s best performing XO and VCXO clock multiplier ICs), and
PicoPLL (world’s smallest and lowest power programmable clocks) today announced the
availability of the newest member of PhaseLink’s extensive PicoPLL clock family, PL613-21.
|
| | The next generation portable devices incorporate more features than most personal
computers, with multiple ICs from various vendors, working at different voltage levels.
PhaseLink’s PL613-21 is designed to accommodate the need for varying voltage levels on
each clock output, from 1.62V to 3.63V, eliminating the need for a variety of system clock ICs
and oscillators, or on-board voltage dividers, to save precious board space and to reduce cost.
PL613-21 supports 4 programmable output frequencies ranging from 200Hz to 125MHz, from a
reference clock or low-frequency crystal input. The device offers individual Power Down pins
to turn off each PLL and its corresponding clock buffer output(s). This allows the user to turn
off each PLL/output combination, when not in use, to conserve power. PL613-21 consumes
less than 5mA when in operating mode, making it the world’s lowest power consuming 3-PLL
clock, and the ideal timing source for handheld and portable applications. Programming also
allows selecting between 3 output drives (4mA, 8mA, or 16mA) to further enhance performance
for low or high frequency clocks as well as reducing the overall power consumption of the
system. The PL613-21 is housed in a 16-pin QFN (3x3x0.8mm) GREEN/RoHS compliant
package.
|
| | “PL613-21’s varying voltage levels on each clock output, combined with less than 5mA power
consumption, wide frequency range, and small form-factor fills an important timing source gap
for the handheld, portable, or any application where 32KHz and MHz clocks are required.”,
Said Amir Naghavi, VP of Marketing for PhaseLink Corporation. “Designers can now improve
design quality and performance while reducing board space and cost.”

or square wave inputs with <0.1V voltage swing, while offering the lowest power consumption. With its smallest size, PL610
family has an uncompromising performance that also supports a built-in Automatic Level Control (ALC) circuitry that regulates
performance, and is capable of ±50ppm crystal fine-tuning to reach the desired 0ppm output frequency. PL610 family is also
capable of producing two clock outputs of equal or differing frequencies.
|
| | “The programmable versions of the PL610 are capable of covering an output frequency range of 80kHz to 130MHz using a
single die, unlike the competition that uses 8 different die for each package size to cover a smaller frequency range.”, said
Amir Naghavi, VP of Marketing for PhaseLink Corporation. “Combined with its ±50ppm crystal fine-tuning, the programmable
PL610 family reduces the IC inventory costs, while providing a distinct feature and pricing differentiator for the oscillator
manufacturers.”

| | Fremont, California - July 31, 2000
PhaseLink Corporation, a leading clock synthesizer supplier, today announced the PLL501-01, and PLL501-05 as the first members of its high integration VCXO clock family.
|
| | These devices are ideal for use in digital set-top boxes, ADSL modem, Satellite Receiver, Cable modem and other applications where it is necessary to lock a local oscillator to another frequency source, such as a clock recovery circuit.
|
| | All devices in PhaseLink’s VCXO portfolio feature low jitter, internal varicap providing a minimum ±100 PPM pull range, 0 to 3V input tuning voltage, and are designed to replace expensive discrete VCXOs.
|
| | The output is compatible with current HCMOS and TTL logic families. The recommended supply voltages are 3.3V ±10% with supply currents ranging from 10 to 25mA max, depending on frequency range. Both parts use an external parallel resonant crystal.
|
| | The PLL501-01 provides a fixed output at twice the frequency of the input (ideal for 27MHz applications using a 13.5MHz crystal). The PLL501-05 generates a fixed 35.328Mhz ± 100 PPM from a 13.248Mhz crystal (ideal for ADSL modem applications).
|
| | PhaseLink designed the PLL501 Series with an eye toward keeping noise as low as possible. Standard Deviation reading of 14ps at 27Mhz is exceptionally low for VCXO clock ICs in CMOS PLL based design.
|
| | The PLL501-01/-05s are currently available for sampling and can be purchased in production quantities. All devices come in an 8-pin 150mil SOP package and is priced at $3.00 in quantities of 1000. |
